Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Karen Arms, our certified pediatric nurse practitioner, graduated from Wesley-Passavant School of Nursing in 1976.  She spent the next 21 years working as a Neonatal Intensive Care nurse in hospitals in Chicago and California.  She attended the University of California, San Francisco and in 1997, earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing with a specialty in neonatology.  After graduation, Karen and her husband moved to Reno where she began her career as a nurse practitioner at Saint Mary’s Nell J. Redfield Health Center.  Wishing to further her career, she once again returned to school and received a Post-Masters certificate specializing in Pediatrics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  Karen has been working in Dr. White’s office since January 2008.
